Another strong sale and possibly in the end a lack of any serious competition is enough to ensure the Number One position on the UK singles chart belongs to Professor Green and Emile Sande with Read All About It for a second week, the release of Green's album doing little it seems to dent his singles market appeal. Intriguingly the track they deposed, We Found Love by Rihanna and Calvin Harris rebounds back to the runners up slot this week, with Earthquake by Labrinth and Tinie Tempah slipping down to Number 3.

This all means that the biggest new release of the week has to content itself with a new entry at Number 4 - With UR Love, the second single release from former X Factor contestant Cher Lloyd. With the release of this new track it is increasingly obvious that her debut single Swagger Jagger was positioned for maximum impact, designed to both inspire and annoy in equal measure - with a Number One position the result upon its release back in August. Her new track is a world away from the playground chanting of its predecessor, With UR Love instead an engaging slice of pop-R&B in which she dials down the attitude and demonstrates her singing abilities like never before. Further credibility is added by a guest vocal from American star Mike Posner who thus lands himself a second Top 5 hit to follow his own Cooler Than Me which charted in October last year. There may be disappointment in some quarters that the single failed to live up to its early week promise and failed to mount a challenge for Number One as the week progressed, but if nothing else this record may just have awakened more people to the possibility that the tiny star's newly release debut album Sticks + Stones might be worth more than just a brief glance.

In one of those lovely moments of banal trivia, with the line-up of singles in the Top 4 being joined by Moves Like Jagger holding on at Number 5, the "Martha Wash rule" is in full effect this week, with every single one of the Top 5 singles being credited to "act x featuring act y" in a new zenith for co-credited singles.

Congratulations are also due to Ed Sheeran who has no need of any vocal assistance to climb six places with Lego House to land his third Top 10 single in a row. The track sits pretty at Number 6, following on from his Top 5 singles The A Team and You Don't Need Me I Need You, the former still a consistent seller and itself the Number 22 single this week in its 22nd week on the chart.

Sheeran's album + maintains a place in the Top 10 this week, a feat beyond several other records as the pre-holiday flood of new releases continues apace. Number One album of the week is Ceremonials from Florence & The Machine, the album matching at a stroke the peak of her debut release 'Lungs' from 2009. Both singles released to date from Ceremonials have struggled rather, with What The Water Gave Me limping to Number 24 and Shake It Out returning to the Top 40 this week at Number 26 having first peaked a place lower back in mid-October.

Also new on the album chart is current Number One singles artist Professor Green with At Your Inconvenience, MOR crooner Alfie Boe with Alfie at Number 6, Stereo Typical by Rizzle Kicks at Number 9 and National Treasures - The Complete Singles, from the Manic Street Preachers at Number 10.

Less well starred perhaps is the Christmas offering from teen idol Justin Bieber who can only limp to Number 13 with Under The Mistletoe. OK so it is a novelty festive release rather than a proper pop album, but it does back up by theory that for all the hype, his 12 year old female fanbase actually buy more posters than they do music.

Finally for those who like their rock albums rather more mature and grizzled, there is a neat lineup of veterans lower down the listings. Megadeth's Th1rt3en and the much remarked upon collaboration between Lou Reed and Metallica Lulu both enter at 34 and 36 respectively this week, neatly sandwiching the newly remastered 20th anniversary re-release of U2's classic album Achtung Baby which lands at Number 35.
